When a post fails, you should know about it

Social platforms sometimes reject posts, and connections sometimes expire. Orbis Social retries where that can help, and makes failures visible.

Why posts fail

Common causes include a connection that has expired, a permission that has been removed, media the platform will not accept and temporary problems on the platform itself. Some of these clear up on their own, and some need a person to act.

Retries, then visibility

Where a retry could help, Orbis Social tries again. If a post still cannot be published, it is shown as failed rather than quietly disappearing, so you can correct it and try again.

An honest limit

We depend on Facebook and Instagram being available and accepting the post. We can't promise that every post will publish, but we can make sure you are able to see when one has not.

At a glance

  • Automatic publishing retries
  • Failures shown clearly
  • In-app notifications
  • See the post that needs attention
  • Fix and try again
  • Recorded in the audit log
Questions

Frequently asked questions

No. Publishing depends on Facebook and Instagram, and on your connection and media. We retry where that can help and show you when something has failed.
Failures are visible in the app, and Orbis Social uses in-app notifications to flag things that need attention.
